CO₂ capture plant built with Clim@Add® wins bioenergy award

A truly pioneering project has been underway in Dornbirn since September 2025: Austria's first plant forCO2 capture from a biomass power plant is now in operation. It captures carbon dioxide from the exhaust gases of the wood-fired power plant and turns it into a valuable biogenic raw material for regional businesses.
The power plant uses regional wood chips as fuel to generate electricity, heat, biochar, and liquidCO2

The concrete parts of the hall were constructed using Clim@Add®, and Ilg has once again demonstrated how consistently it pursues its holistic approach to sustainability, combining circular economy, decarbonization, and negative emissions.

For this, EnergieWerk Ilg GmbH has now been awarded the 2025 Wood Energy Prize in the wood chip category.
